Andrew began wrestling at WCYWA in Kindergarten & embodies all the traits of a WCYWA wrestler; hard work, dedication, fair play & tenacity. This year he took 2nd place at the ICWL Championships after working his way back from serious hip surgery. Andrew will be wrestling for WC East next year.

Congratulations to all of the Griffins who wrestled in the 2016 ICWL Open Championship on Sunday, February 28th. While WCYWA ended its 5 year run of ICWL Team Championships, we did place in the Top 3 (3rd Place) for the 8th consecutive year! The 2016 PJW Junior High State Championships were held on March 5th & 6th at the Cambria County War Memorial Arena in Johnstown, Pa. WCYWA was represented by Killian Delaney & Patrick Cusack, both of whom wrestled superbly against the toughest competition the state has to offer. Killian Delaney capped off a fantastic year with an incredible 2nd Place. Way to go boys!!
The 2016 PJW Youth State Championship was held at the Erie Insurance Arena in Erie Pa on April 1st & 2nd. WCYWA was represented by Alex Pratzner, Yayden Cooper, & Rhys Holvey. All 3 boys wrestled superbly against some incredible tough competition, with Alex taking 7th Place & Rhys Taking 8th Place. Great job boys!!
It was a successful trip to the ICWL Novice Championship tournament at Methacton on Sunday, February 21st. The Team won its 3rd NOVICE CHAMPIONSHIP in a row!! 22 first year Griffins entered and battled and 11 came away as place winners. We are very proud of the progress that was made by the entire novice group this season!
