ABOUT US

WCYWA is a not for profit wrestling club for boys and girls that caters to all wrestlers K-8th grade and all skill sets. We typically start our wrestlers in Kindergarten and/or at 5 years old. We have made exceptions to allow 4 year olds to wrestle.  If you have a question about your child, please discuss it with one of the coaches.

• We are located at the Exton Square Mall.  260 Exton Square Pkwy, Exton, PA 19341   Use the South Mall Entrance next to the Main Line Health Center.  Go to the end of the hall, make a left, we are the first door on the left.   *Please see map here
• Our season consists of about 34 practices along with 7 wrestling meets with other clubs.  We will have 4 home meets this season
  • Practices are Tuesdays & Thursdays
  • Meets are on Saturday morning
  • We offer Sibling and Middle School discounts (7th/8th graders).  Please contact us for the codes.
• We will begin on Thursday, November 7th & finish in early March
  • If you are still doing a Fall sport, simply join us when it is over
• Practice times: 
  • Group 1: 5:30 - 6:30 pm
  • Group 2: 6:30 - 7:45 pm
  • Group 3: 6:30 - 8:00 pm
• For new kids:
  • We practice in shorts/t-shirts.  Singlets are for meets
  • You will need wrestling shoes before your first meet 
  • Bring a water bottle to every practice
• There are 3 skill levels (see descriptions below)

*The coaching staff will determine your wrestlers practice group.

Novice (1-hour practice):

This session places heavy emphasis on teaching the basics, having fun and working hard.  Practices consist of an energetic warm up, some teaching and drilling of moves, a brief break in the middle, and we end practice with live wrestling or a fun game.

Intermediate (1-hour & 15 minute practice):

This session continues to build on the fundamentals learned as a novice. Practices are structured similarly but things move faster and a more advanced curriculum is taught.  Often times the second session will feature a guest clinician such as one of the local high school coaches.

Advanced (1-hour & 30 minute practice):

This session is for kids with multiple years of experience/skills OR our older kids (such as middle school) as this session generally has kids who  are bigger.  Kids need to be matched up with someone close to their size regardless of skill.
